Regulatory Framework

Brightstone Life and its affiliated agents operate under the supervision of state insurance departments in the jurisdictions where we conduct business. Insurance products are offered through licensed agents under contracts with admitted carriers in each applicable state.

We comply with all applicable federal and state regulations governing the marketing, sale, and servicing of life insurance products, including but not limited to the requirements of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) model regulations, state replacement and suitability rules, and applicable producer licensing laws.

Producer Licensing

All agents in our network are required to maintain active life insurance producer licenses in the states where they solicit business. We verify licensure prior to contracting and monitor license status through ongoing reviews.

Continuing education completion is the responsibility of each licensed producer and is verified periodically as part of our compliance review process.

Suitability & Replacement

Our agents follow carrier and state suitability requirements when recommending life insurance products, including the obligation to make recommendations that are appropriate for the client's age, financial situation, objectives, and risk tolerance.

When a transaction involves the replacement of existing coverage, agents are required to provide all applicable disclosure forms and follow state-specific replacement procedures.

TCPA & Marketing Compliance

We require all agents and lead sources in our network to operate in compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the FCC's one-to-one consent rules, and applicable state telemarketing laws. Vendors that cannot demonstrate compliant consent practices are not permitted in our Lead Center.

SMS communications sent by Brightstone Life are opt-in only and adhere to CTIA messaging principles. Recipients may opt out at any time by replying STOP.

Carrier Relationships

We maintain direct contractual relationships with A-rated and highly rated insurance carriers. All carrier appointments are coordinated through our contracting team to ensure proper credentialing, anti-money-laundering training, and product certification are completed before any business is submitted.

Anti-Fraud & AML

Brightstone Life and its agents are required to complete carrier-mandated anti-money-laundering (AML) and anti-fraud training. We maintain procedures designed to detect, deter, and report suspicious activity in accordance with applicable law and carrier requirements.

Knowingly misrepresenting information on an insurance application is a violation of state insurance law. Any such conduct results in immediate termination from our network and reporting to applicable authorities.

Privacy & Data Protection

We maintain a written information security program with administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal and financial information. For details on our data practices, see our Privacy Policy.

Complaints & Escalations

Consumer complaints are reviewed promptly by our compliance team and escalated to the appropriate carrier, regulator, or internal stakeholder as necessary. We maintain records of all complaints and their resolution.
